It has become nearly impossible to talk about spreading the love for music around the world without considering concert tours. Think of having your favorite artiste in the nearest town and voila! That’s a concert tour for you. Concert tours seem to be the very definition of the love for music and bands have not been left behind. What with the amounts of money revelers are increasingly parting with to attend such events. More and more bands are joining the concert tour crusade, the primary goal being to travel as far as the music sways them and their instruments. Still, these tours do more than spread the love for music around the whole world.
They are also a useful tool for bands to promote their own music by taking it to the would-be fans. This is because the artistes perform most, if not all, of their music to people in various parts of the world. There are people who may not have heard some of these songs but learn of them through the concert. This may develop in them an interest to acquire the songs. The bands may probably record more sales as a result of this. Bands also get to meet their fans albeit in large numbers. They are able to catch a glimpse of the impact their music has on people. The individual members are bound to feel the appreciation of their fans. This serves as a motivation to keep creating music and may even inspire certain songs or albums.
Concert tours are fun and entertaining, if not interactive. They give fans a rare opportunity to see the performers in flesh and some even come close enough for a handshake or autograph: such opportunities are often cherished, if not lived for. This makes some people feel close to the artistes which further encourages their appreciation of the music as they feel they connected to the artiste. It is a trend for most bands on tour to ride in limousines where they can roll down the windows and greet their fans as they go by. It is rewarding to interact with one’s fans. Some artistes even prefer to stand and wave through the retractable window and wave. The end does justify the means after all.
Furthermore, there is a certain satisfaction that one gets from watching a band perform live that recorded music may not deliver. As with all things, this does not apply to all people. Nonetheless, a good number of people seem to appreciate music better when they can watch the artistes perform. One may argue that concerts are where music comes to life. It is exhilarating, in some way to watch the instrumentalists’ interaction with the instruments as the singer’s coordination with the beats. The mood created by the different songs performed is beautiful to experience in person and the sight is definitely interesting to watch. Little wonder then that they are used to spread the love for music around the world.
